The Biggest Outlets in Italy: 2026 Ranking by Number of Stores

Serravalle Designer Outlet, near Alessandria, is Italy's biggest outlet: 214 stores, 56 more than the runner-up, Valmontone near Rome (158). We compared 18 outlet villages by counting the stores one by one in the directories on their official websites: here is the ranking, where they are and what to know before you go.

The biggest outlets in Italy: 2026 ranking by number of stores

Italian outlet villages like round numbers: "over 230 designer brands", "over 190 brands", "170 stores". To compare them fairly we used a single measure: the entries in the store directory each outlet publishes on its own website, read between 30 September and 8 October 2026 (five of them from our own guides), excluding restaurants, services and upcoming openings. Floor area is not part of the ranking, because each operator measures it differently and many do not publish it.

The ranking: stores per outlet

Eighteen outlet villages with a readable store directory on their official website, from largest to smallest. Outlets with the same number share the same position. For the five outlets with a full guide on CentroCommerciale.it (in Italian), the name links to it.

Before you go: some stores in the directories may be temporary and no longer there when you read this page, and new ones may open in the meantime. Always check the store list on the outlet's official website before your visit: you will find the link under each description.

Two well-known outlets are not ranked. The Mall Firenze, in Leccio Reggello near Florence, lists 37 brands, almost all luxury, including Gucci, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta and Balenciaga, but not individual stores, so it cannot be compared with the others. Official website: firenze.themall.it. The website of Città Sant'Angelo Outlet Village (Pescara) showed only a parked-domain page on 7 October 2026: without an official directory we left it out.

Tax-free shopping for non-EU visitors

The official websites of Serravalle, Noventa di Piave, Barberino, Franciacorta, Valdichiana, Palmanova, Vicolungo and Fidenza Village list a tax-free refund service among their services. Conditions and minimum spend are set by each outlet and by the refund operator: check them on the outlet's website and keep your passport and receipts with you.

Why the advertised numbers are higher

Many outlets advertise more stores than their own directory shows: brands sold inside another store, restaurants counted with shops, temporary stores or figures that have not been updated. Serravalle says "over 230 designer brands" and lists 214; Noventa di Piave says "over 170" and lists 158 units; Franciacorta says "over 190 brands" and has 166 units including restaurants; Sicilia Outlet Village says "170 stores" and has 152 entries including restaurants; Fidenza Village says "over 120 boutiques" and lists 113 brands. That is why the ranking uses the directory only: it is the one figure anyone can check.

In brief

Widest choice of all: Serravalle Designer Outlet (near Alessandria), 214 stores

Near Rome: Valmontone (158) for choice, Castel Romano (147) for luxury

Near Venice: Noventa di Piave, 155 stores

Near Milan: Scalo Milano (140, free shuttle) or Franciacorta (152, province of Brescia)

In the south: La Reggia near Caserta (144); in Sicily, Sicilia Outlet Village in Agira (142)

For eating well: Scalo Milano (19 places), Vicolungo (18) and Serravalle (16)
